Centered in the city of Stormreach, DDO is set on the fictional continent of Xen'drik, in the world of Eberron, a Dungeons and Dragons campaign setting. Xen'drik is a vastly unexplored and wild locale, once the center of the Advanced Giant Civilization, which was destroyed thousands of years before. Players can create their characters following the revised edition of D&D 3.5 rule-set fashion, and play them in both indoor and outdoor environments, including dungeons.

I have never been into world of DnD, but recently I decided to try the game. If you want an old style RPG, this is a game for you. I fell in love with this game at the first sight. Community is also very good and helpful for a new players. Graphics are not so bad when you find out that the game is from 2006. They still provide updates, new content, classes etc. Also there is a paid content in the game, but most of the things you can buy via DDO points which you can get for real life money or by doing quests and raids in game. Another good thing about the game is that they give some content for free to the players every last Wednesday in the month, you just need to log in and talk to one NPC to get it

18 years and still growing in expansions and content. Highly recommend for any avid Dungeons and Dragon fan, whether just trying it out for the first time or a returning player looking to get back into the game.
