Kentucky Route Zero is a magical realist adventure game about a secret highway in the caves beneath Kentucky, and the mysterious folks who travel it. Gameplay is inspired by point-and-click adventure games (like the classic Monkey Island or King's Quest series, or more recently Telltale's Walking Dead series), but focused on characterization, atmosphere and storytelling rather than clever puzzles or challenges of skill. The game is developed by Cardboard Computer (Jake Elliott and Tamas Kemenczy). The game's soundtrack features an original electronic score by Ben Babbitt along with a suite of old hymns & bluegrass standards recorded by The Bedquilt Ramblers.

I don't think you CAN 100% this game. I don't think that's the point. This isn't a "game", really. It's not a visual novel, or a point and click adventure, or even a like, exploration "find the object" or "fetch the macguffin". You just, experience the story. You live in the world, and you listen to the characters. You live for a minute in their lives, and experience their deaths in many definitions of the word. Terrible stream game, great game to just. Vibe with.

This game made me feel incredibly dumb. Any time I felt like I had some semblance of understanding, the rug got pulled out from under me. I appreciated the way the story was delivered, especially when you didn't realize the perspective had shifted (the museum one comes to mind). All in all, it's very artsy and if that isn't your cup of tea, I'd recommend passing on this one.
