This game was so good! I just beat the game last night but that was after spending a lot of time doing a lot of side quests, doing a lot of skirmishes and working on my kingdom. I love the artwork (I love Studio Ghibli) and the character development was nice. I enjoyed the story and I love how if you put in time to build the kingdom affects the gameplay a lot since you can upgrade your chances at finding stuff, monster drops, gearing out your characters, upgrading abilities, upgrading benefits for your armies in skirmishes, etc. I think it's a great well rounded JRPG.

While the leveling was significantly unbalanced, even with fighting all the extra exp bosses and most side quests. it also seemed to struggle with a budget, with lots of scenes having no voice acting or voice acting starting midway through a scene.

Sequel to a great game takes the gameplay mechanics in a wildly different direction but still makes a great game.

Me gustó más el primero aunque son bastante distintos. Creo que intenta hacer tantas cosas distintas que al final no las hace del todo bien. Aún así es muy buen juego. En normal es demasiado fácil y en difícil/experto es injusto, falta mucho balance ahí.

A very mediocre game. The gameplay combat is awesome at first few hours, then got very repetitive after that. The story might not be the best, probably aimed for children and teenagers. The game did a very good job though in nailing the Ghibli-like aesthetics and graphics that suits the theme of the game. The gameplay mechanics of base-building is what I think makes the game, although this also can get pretty tedious at times.
