Observer - экспериментальная игра в стилистике Киберпанка (вышла в 2017, так что сами считайте кто первее взошел на пьедестал, ведь игр в то время в этом жанре можно было пересчитать по пальцам). Сюжет максимально интересен, особенно если вникнуть, а вот геймплейная составляющая куда слабее. Психологический хоррор в целом штука такая, что угодить всем не получится, кого-то попросту не зацепит та история, вокруг которой всё завязано. Мне лично сюжет вкатил. Но вот играть наскучило очень быстро, хоть и под финал игра разошлась. Моменты с психоделикой сделаны порой великолепно, но к середине уже перестают удивлять тебя также как впервые. Очень спорная игра, которую я могу посоветовать тем, кто любит углубляться в лор и мир игры, тех кого геймплейная волнует меньше, чем хорошо сплетенный сюжет.

Played the original game, not the remake without problems on Win11h64. This is a nice game with voice-actor Rutger Hauer at his best to create the ambience. IMHO not a horror-game per se, although there are horror-elements in it. Visuals sometimes very confusing in mazes, which has direct effect on the gameplay. This is the reason for the deduction of stars. Full steam review here: The story is the great in this game. Without any problems, I did a playthrough on a Win11h64-computer with updated Nvidia-drivers. Experienced no technical issues. Although the story is strong and Rutger Hauer nailed the voice acting for the main protagonist, the mazes and puzzles are sometimes very confusing because the developers played so much with spacial disorientation and changing. I agree with previous reviewers: this game may pose challenges to people, who tend to have motion sickness or problems with spatial orientation. Those I mostly solved with pure luck and instinct - the game does not give many hints. And to be honest, I would leave the horror tag off this one. Would rather categorize it as a Sci-Fi psychological thriller. The NPCs are great and the showdown contains a great plot-twist. This game is enjoyable to play and has a high replay value. Sneaking-skills need to be on par with this game! Would I call it a masterpiece? Not, taking everything into account. Is it a good game with a nice story, great character selection and voice-actors, nice ambience and good graphics? Definitely yes. Recommendation for this one.
