Pokémon Prism is a super customized Pokémon Crystal mod that takes place in a previously unexplored region. It contains new mechanics unseen in its inspired franchise, while refining existing gameplay. Boasting an expansive landscape to adventure in filled with unique challenges, fresh areas to explore, and new ways to play, Pokémon Prism is an entirely new experience that gamers of all ages are sure to enjoy! Pokémon Prism was planned to be released on December 25, 2016. It was cancelled several days prior to release, on December 21, following a cease and desist by Nintendo in which all the developer's ROM hacks were pulled offline, but later leaked onto the Internet.

Playing through this game in 2016 as a beta tester, before TPP got to play it, before it leaked to the world, was a truly memorable experience. Gen 2 Pokemon is always my favourite aesthetically, and this game pushes the limits of the GBC. It tries a lot of different story mechanics the older games wouldn't, like getting thrown in prison, as well as some of the best parts of the older games, like having a Distortion World before the last gym to confront a legendary mon. And the effort they put in with new types and imported mechanics and mons from later gens is certainly not overlooked. It's an incredibly well done gen 2 hack.
