Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is a platform video game acting as a prequel to 1990's Super Mario World. The game casts players as Yoshi as he escorts Baby Mario through 48 levels in order to reunite him with his brother Luigi, who had been kidnapped by Baby Bowser's minions. As a Super Mario series platformer, Yoshi runs and jumps to reach the end of the level while solving puzzles and collecting items. In a style new to the series, the game has a hand-drawn aesthetic and is the first to have Yoshi as its main character. The game introduces his signature abilities to flutter jump, produce eggs from swallowed enemies, and transform into vehicles.

Super Mario World 2 è uno dei capitoli più sottovalutati della saga . Ha un art design unico in tutta la seria oltre che molte meccaniche di gameplay nuove (su tutte ovviamente la meccanica delle uova). Rispetto a Super Mario World secondo me il level design è leggermente superiore e i boss sono più vari e meglio realizzati. Cambia molto anche il sistema dei punteggi e delle monete, bello il fatto che alla fine di ogni prendi un voto in centesimi. Manca però la meccanica delle molteplici uscite dai livelli che rendevano la mappa del primo Super Mario World complessa e indimenticabile. Nel complesso quindi è leggermente inferiore al primo ma è molto valido

Ce jeu a été le tout premier auquel j’ai joué, et il m’a profondément marqué. Il a été le début d’une passion qui dure encore aujourd’hui, 30 ans plus tard, et qui ne semble pas près de s’arrêter.

One of my favorite games of all time!! Played this a lot as a kid and always go back to it. I love the visual art style, music and gameplay. Played a lot with my mom and sister growing up. <3

Really surprised with this. The game is beautiful to look at from start to finish. Baby Mario's crying is of the devil through. Platforming, boss fights and little puzzles here and there kept the game fresh. Love Yoshi transforming into different things. Strong recommend to play loved it so much more then Super Mario world but that's just me.

It is a prequel to the original Super Mario World and features Yoshi as the main protagonist. The game's story begins with a stork delivering Baby Mario and Baby Luigi to their parents in the Mushroom Kingdom. However, the evil Kamek, a Magikoopa, attacks the stork and kidnaps Baby Luigi, while Baby Mario falls onto Yoshi's Island.
