Девушка, похоронив мать, по её предсмертной просьбе отправляется в старый отель, которым владеет их семья, чтобы осмотреть его и продать. Отель пустовал 10 лет из-за трагедии. Отец нашей героини влюбился в 16-летнюю девушку по имени Рейчел, и после короткого романа Рейчел, по официальной версии, покончила с собой, убив не только себя, но и нерождённого ребёнка. Именно после этих событий героиня вместе с матерью сбегает из отеля. Теперь ей предстоит вернуться в то место и вспомнить, что же на самом деле произошло 10 лет назад. Помогает ей в этом молодой человек из службы чрезвычайных ситуаций, который всегда на связи по телефону. В игрt нет скримеров, но присутствует давящая атмосфера и постоянное ощущение, что за тобой кто-то следит или что-то вот-вот случится. Также есть несложные головоломки, которые разнообразят геймплей. Так что, если хотите пощекотать нервы и немного побыть детективами, возьмите на заметку.

Coming back to the family hotel after years, a young woman named Nicole finds herself trapped with the ghosts from her past and an old cellular telephone as the only way to unveil a terrible truth. The Suicide of Rachel Foster is an atmospheric walking simulator game with great storytelling where it manages to treat extremely delicate issues with tact. The storytelling had good pacing and moved forward steadily at the start, but near the end it got really rushed and felt like they just wanted the game to be over with as fast as possible. The game was very straightforward with what it wanted you to do when playing, and it didn't really reward a lot of exploration. There were a few bugs that forced me to reload a save and loose some progress in the game, but other than that I didn't find any issues in the gameplay. The soundtrack was good and the voice acting was pretty good as well. The small sounds of the abandoned hotel also were really good and made it a little bit spooky to play through. All these things really added to the immersion in my opinion and kept me engaged to the story the whole time. Taking all of these into consideration, and the fact that the game was quite short to play through, I can recommend this game, but definitely not at the full price. The full price is way too much for a game that is so short and feels rushed towards the end. Otherwise a great game and something you should play.

Das Spiel hat seine Momente. Insgesamt hat es bei mir auch einen leichten Gruselfaktor ausgelöst. Eine sehr krasse Story und für mich persönlich wirklich lohnenswert.

First of this game isn't for everyone. It's far from a wholesome, mental health positive journey. It touches the topics of death and trauma. It's dark and twisted story reveals itself as you play. At first might seem very generic and boring but I had a hunch as I progressed the story was more and more interesting for me. The characters strike as annoying and highly unlikable but they fit the story well. The other problem was not knowing where to go and wandering around the hotel at verge of giving up. It's not a strong recommend but if you're really bored it might be for you. This game isn't replayable, on my second playthrough (I did play on other account, my hours are from single gameplay) I picked up few clues in dialogues hinting for what's happening but if you're bright, you could see those hints straight away without even playing second time or just remembering them.
