The Surge is a sci-fi spin on Dark Souls, from the Lords of the Fallen team. A catastrophic event has knocked you out during the first day on the job... you wake up equipped with a heavy-grade exoskeleton, in a destroyed section of the complex. Robots gone haywire, insane augmented co-workers and rogue AI - everything wants you dead. Defy deadly enemies and huge bosses in tight, visceral melee combat. Target and slice specific limbs off your foes, with a next-gen loot system where you loot what you dismember. Equip, upgrade and craft new weapons and armors sliced from enemies, and make yourself stronger through a fresh take on leveling-up.

Fun souls-like game with a twist on wearable gear which comes in the form of rig parts/armour, weapons and modules to help you survive. You wear a rig and attach armour on each main body part; head, arms x2, body and legs x2. There are multiple sets of armour pieces which give buffs when you wear 2/4/6 pieces of the set. Progression is maintained at a steady pace by not allowing you to get overpowered gear without defeating the current boss. since gear currently attainable is sufficient for the boss. There is a bit of grinding to get the armour blueprints and upgrade parts for them since you have to target specific parts of the body and use a finishing move to get a chance to receive the blueprint/parts. But what souls game doesn't require a bit of grinding? 😀 Currency is used differently compared to other souls games. It is used to upgrade your rig core to allow you to equip more modules and upgrade armour. Thankfully you are able to bank this currency in case you meet an unexpected death.

Мне очень понравились сюжет и сеттинг The Surge - но не понравился The Surge как игра. В отличие от той же Lords Of The Fallen, тут броня в плане защиты носит чисто декоративные функции, брать тяжелый экзоскелет имееет смысл только из эстетических соображений (если вам нравится сосать без стамины ради эстетики), а лучший сет в игре - сет охраника - фармится еще до середины игры. Двуручное оружие тоже слишком медленное, а так как у противников нет стаггера, а игрок не может отменить анимацию атаки, то вы просто постоянно будете получать удары. Местная система дропа на бумаге звучит прикольно, а по факту очередная разновидность гринда, когда ты лупасишь одних и тех же врагов, ударяя по разным частям тела, чтобы выбить из них полный сет. Прокачка вроде бы тоже прикольная, а вроде бы есть обязательные фишки вроде доп хилки, работающей на адреналине, чтобы экономить местный Эстус. Геймплей игры в вакууме - в одной тесной комнате набито с десяток противников, как их убить - ваша проблема, развлекайтесь. Боссы сложные только до тех пор, пока вы не просечете их слабости, после чего убиваются на раз-два. При этом игра нереально затянута, под конец игры нужно пройти какие-то нереальные расстояния от одного "костра" к другому, убивая (или пробегая) целые полчища врагов. Лучше пройдите у Куплинова.

Really enjoyed the game, setting and style. But this also suffers with an awful camera issues especially when dealing with the larger bosses and inconsistent hitboxes and damage. Worth playing but can get frustrating at times due to these issues.

from the creators of Lords Of The Fallen.... i played this hoping they did a better job and it's just as bad as lords of the fallen. and no i did not bother with The Surge 2. I didn't buy this i played it because i believe it was on PS Now before it came too PS+

Ist zwar nicht auf einem Niveau mit den FromSoft Souls-Spielen, aber ich trotzdem viel Spaß mit diesem deutschen Sci-Fi-Souls.
