This game was decent and worth playing, but too many small things kept it from being a 7/10. Target locking on enemies would unlock anytime you sprint, so if you wanted to rush an enemy, you had to lock on right after you ended the sprint. And sometimes the target locking would go to an enemy further away and not directly ahead of you. The water in the game was always unclear if it was shallow or deep, and when you can die in deep water, this is a problem. The AI companion would often fall to their death or just fall to a lower level and have to find their way back to you. It was unclear when and why the companion would be summoned, especially after dying earlier. Enemies would respawn after a time period and not when you would rest at the "bonfires." There were many weapons, but they all boiled down to blunt weapons or bladed weapons. The attacking was either one-handed weapons or two-handed weapons, and throwing spears. With one-handed weapons you could hold a shield for blocking or a lantern for dark areas. I liked that the main hub of the area would evolve/grow/build over time as you progressed the story and side quests. And it was interesting to have upgrades to your only stats (heath and stamina) through completing quests and finding feather items. The currency (like souls) was earned through defeating enemies, but also through completing quests. Most bosses were fairly easy, with the final boss the only one I had to attempt multiple times.

This game was ok. I expected it to be more on rails, but it was more open running. The visuals were good, but the boss fights were repetitive and mostly disappointing. They were large, and you just end up running on them from point to point, so you don't even see the boss as you beat it. This was especially disappointing when one of the bosses near the end was quite cool looking. My major complaint was there was no air dash. You could dash on the ground, but not in the air. Would have made the gameplay significantly better.
