This review is after 1 completed playthrough. (Red) The SaGa franchise has interested me for a long time but when I was younger I was so used to Final Fantasy-esque mechanics that I was thrown off by the unique SaGa system to gaining stats and learning new abilities. SaGa Frontier is the perfect SaGa game as a first time player to the franchise, especially if you choose a route that gives you a little LESS freedom at the start. The reason for this is that SaGa Frontier is an open world RPG, you may have some immediate goal, but there are lots of things to discover by talking with NPCs and checking locations (even those that you don't need to go to). I appreciate the game just letting you miss things if you choose not to explore. Some people might not have that same appreciation and that is where I feel SaGa games have their niche audience.

KOFXV is a premier entry in the King of Fighters franchise, while some old fans may still prefer 98 or 02, KOFXV was the game that allowed me to truly get into KOF. The character designs are cool, sometimes a bit outdated by loyal to that end. The characters all have nice facts about them and hobbies that make them whole. Gameplay wise, the game has fast snappy movement which you are looking to check with your hop buttons or strong grounded options. When you land a hit combos will take some time to feel natural, but feel so good to do. There are so many decision to be made to try to get a hit or avoid being put in situations where your opponent gets that good hit. Overall, KOFXV takes a bit of practice to get used to hops and playing 3 characters, but it is worth the time. I love this game will all my heart and hope you can give it a shot.
