A remake of the first and second Langrisser games for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Originally released on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis, the first game was called Warsong internationally while the second game was never released outside of Japan. "The orthodox tactical simulation RPG "Langrisser" series sings in the present day! Full remake of "I" & "II" as the origin of the series! We bring back various elements such as visual refinement, full voice of scenario, optimization of UI and system side, and return on the latest platform!"

The game itself contains 2 games, Langrisser 1 (Warsong US) and Langrisser 2, each took about 30 hours to complete, but both have alternate paths we did not go down. Gameplay is very very solid. It handles like a typical tactics game with moving units around a grid board and using various unit positions and terrain to get an advantage. The layout for actions was smooth and the animations are fast. I really enjoyed the battles and over all gameplay. Holding this game back was the Mobile game graphics, it was hard to shake the feeling I was playing a small FTP phone game on a big screen. Story of the first game is 4/5 stars, but the 2nd games story is almost a joke and again holds the title back from getting any more stars. The main Character of the first game is likeable, a true leader with a purpose and a plan. The 2nd main character is kinda just put in a situation that leads to him having to lead a group around to save the world. Added in romance scenes, bad dialog, dated themes and over all poor story development made the 2nd game a slog that I just wanted to skip through. Soundtrack is pretty close to the original games music and is pretty fun and upbeat. I really enjoyed the menu music a bit too much and spent much time there fixing my army. Back to the gameplay, the unit builds are very good. Unlike the OG sega games, you can carry more than one magic item and it lends itself to more player control over how the characters are used in battles. I enjoyed the game over all, but doubt I'll ever replay the 2nd game much.
