I was not expecting to love this game as much as I did going into it! It is in my opinion one of the best modern Pokemon games. The story is unique and the battle mechanic of fast and heavy attacks adds a lot of depth and difficulty into the standard Pokemon battle! I really loved the post game, as it had one of the most difficult fights I've faced in one of these games!

Really cool new direction to take the series. I like the focus on catching pokemon, but it does get a little repetitive toward the end. Early game can be a bit of a slog (they really tried to capture those sinnoh vibes). Post game is a bit bizarre, twist villain is kind of out of nowhere and then the boss is just completely unfair.

*Incomplete playthrough on stream, possibly moving over to YouTube.* This is my favorite Pokémon game, but I did not enjoy streaming it sadly. I really love the open world setting, the exploration, and getting to do some side quests and hunt for space-time rifts. Hopefully I can return to it someday!

Probably the best Pokémon game of the decade. Still not a quality game, full of annoying slow down, and n64 textures level. Game Freak should really get their shit togheter.

Anfang & Tutorials zieht sich wie'n Kaugummi. Poststory ist komplett unfair. Alles dazwischen war ganz nett & hatte einigermaßen Spaß gemacht. Pokémon Arceus & BDSP sind für mich der Sargnagel. Ich bin raus.

I had a ton of fun with this game. Completed the Pokédex and did some shiny hunting after. Honestly if it wasn't for the way too large amount of bugs, jank and bad looking textures this would've probably been my favorite Pokémon game of all time.

I'm very happy to say that this is the most fun I've had playing a Pokemon game in a very long time. The pacing of this game benefits greatly from the new streamlined gameplay design. Traversal is fast and fun, battles are quick and happen instantly in the world without loading a separate arena, and catching Pokemon no longer requires a battle to be fought beforehand. Overall, the gameplay loop is just so much more engaging than it has ever been. It's mission focused with an emphasis on exploration and capturing Pokemon. Story is also more engaging due to the circumstances affecting not just your character but the world they have been dropped into. Speaking of which the world is incredibly fun to explore. I've stated in my review of the original Detective Pikachu that one of the best and most endearing aspects of that game was the portrayal of Pokemon simply just living in the environment. Legends Arceus is a big step in incorporating that to be built further upon in future games. Pokemon animations aren't as in-depth or unique due to obvious and budget restrictions, but it does a lot to make the world feel more alive than most other games in the series. Another thing I loved is that the entirety of the Pokedex are all found within the game without the need for trades or online capabilities. This is the one and only game that I have ever gone out of my way to catch all the Pokemon available and the pay-off for it is so satisfying. Speaking of which, the final battle of this game is the most difficult thing I have experienced in a Pokemon game in a long time. It was frustrating, but also so cool and satisfying. The music was incredible for both the main and true ending. This game has all the content I wanted in regards to what I though the Diamond and Pearl remakes should have been. The inclusion of the creation trio of Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina along with inclusion of the titular Pokemon in the true finale was everything I wanted in those games. The one thing missing was, again, the inclusion of the Distortion World from Platinum. As a spin-off this is a much needed and fresh entry into the series that I'm excited to be turned into it's own series. It does still feel like the developers haven't quite solidified all their ideas but, it is an incredible foundation to build upon. I'm very excited for the next entry, Pokemon Legends Z-A, and the ways it will improve upon what has already been done here. P.S. Ya got me, Gamefreak. Happy to excited about the future of the Pokemon World once again.
