This game was fantastic. A brilliant origin story about the master sword with amazing characters and the usual Zelda fun gameplay. The Switch version is definitely the best version to play this game.

story progression was extremely annoying but the real reason i quit was because the combat was confusing me and felt too hard and unforgiving

Para ser el juego que cuente los inicios de la leyenda de Zelda y Link, es muy bueno, un mundo muy ingenioso para la época y las armas mas curiosas. El control es el mayor problema, pero si se ignora eso, es un juego bastante disfrutable.

I was really excired when they announced this for the switch. I had been looking to buy the wii version for quite a while but the game was really expensive everywhere. This version gave me a chance to play it through. I attempted to play it with the motion controls, but it wasn't really my cup of tea. I enjoyed playing the game with a pro controller though. The game is beautiful through and through. Amazing story and amazing soundtrack. Definitely one of my favorite Zelda games. Would recommend🤩

This remake frustrated me on several occasions. Not only is it too handhold-y with its tips and denial of player autonomy (automatic sailcloth deployment for example), but it also lacks quality in input. Motion controls seem spongy and rough, using the pro controller flat out denied some of the benefits that motion controls give. I had to switch input several times throughout my playthrough to give the more difficult parts my best shot. Hard to enjoy, to say the least.

The controls took a while to get used to. I also didn't like the backtracking to the 3 areas, three times, but overall a great game.

Skyward Sword is simultaneously such a drag and also a very entertaining game with one of the best stories in the Zelda series. It’s incredibly interesting to learn about the beginning of the Zelda timeline, and the main cast are a really fun bunch of characters, but the fact that you have to fight almost the exact same boss three whole times says a lot about how much this game is padded out. Skyward Sword boldly uses only three areas for the course of the entire game, not counting Skyloft and some other smaller areas. This is a really interesting approach, but it just doesn’t work. Other Zelda games have busywork, but this Zelda game has busywork that involves going to one of three places for the twentieth time, doing some fetch quest, and then doing another one immediately afterwards. It’s just a bit of a mess, and no amount of expanding on the same three areas can save it from feeling tedious, even when the expansions are significant. You see the same three themes throughout the course of the game, and you’ll just have to be happy with them. The silent realms are possibly the worst offenders of reusing content I’ve experienced in any game. Each one is essentially a fetch quest (though what parts of this game aren’t) that tasks you with running around one of the three main areas and collecting fifteen items. Sounds tedious, but whatever, right? Did I forget to mention that you start completely over if you’re hit even just once by any enemy? There is no joy in the silent realms, just the empty happiness of knowing that it’s finally over once you’re done. There is probably almost 10 hours of content in this game that absolutely does not need to be there. 10 hours that consists of boring environment reuse, incredibly thinly veiled fetch quests, and even sometimes both. Even when the reuse is interesting, it’s hard to feel engaged when you’re just once again in the same place that you were 5 hours ago. The last 5 or so hours of the game are genuinely really fun (aside from the Tadtones in Faron Woods), but there’s so much slop to wade through to get to the good parts. Some of the dungeons in this game are some of the best in any Zelda game that I’ve played. Incredibly well designed with solutions that are largely not too obtuse. It’s just so hard to completely confidently say that it’s worth getting through the bad parts of this game just for them. The game is largely really fun, largely really great, but there’s just a quarter or more of it that’s just busywork, and uninteresting busywork at that.
