In the top 20 of worst FPS games i've played easily, do not spend money on this dumpster fire. Hell don't even waste the bandwidth on pirating it, boltgun sucks

It's okay, just mid. It hits the style, but there's nothing compelling or interesting, just walk and shoot; There are much better alternatives.

This is a great game to numb your brain to the sounds of the never ending barrage of heavy bolter shots as you shoot at anything that moves. The weapons are diverse and fun, you move quickly and feel overpowered and the dedicated taunt button ensures that you're in the right mindset while purging heretics on your mission to retrieve the fragment. This my first experience with Warhammer, so the story didn't mean much to me. Then again, it didn't have to. You'll likely already know if you enjoy these types of games. The retro touch gave it a cool vibe. FOR THE EMPEROR!

While the game is pure fun to play it never does anything enticing to really keep you playing. Its novelty comes off fast as its game loop starts hurting the pace. The enemy variety is something that bothered me as you fight the majority that you will fight throughout the game really fast. The combat is fun with great weight and a nice crunch to the bloody massacre that you will coat the walls, and the graphics are nice but areas in the maps you'll be walking through will feel samey and with no map it is easy to lose your way. Follow the lights and hope your stray bullets don't destroy them. The game is lengthy for its price but never really does anything with its decent length chapters. It had me feeling that sometimes there was to much of the same thing and could have taken a few levels out to even the pace a bit. I think what made that feeling really shine is again the lack of enemy variety and just how much it throws the same ol' wave at you time and time again. Toads. So many toads. Despite my issues I had a lot of fun with this one, and for its price its content filled with its campaign. You'll be looking for colored keys to find its same colored doors with its mazey maps, I think the pace would be much better if there was a map tool for the player. The music is also pretty lacking for such a crunchy game. But when you're in those arenas shooting and chainsawing your foes down it is a helluva time. A fantastic recommendation if you're a fan of Warhammer and older style shooters, with some oddities its still a good time.

7,2/10 The incredible visual of this project deserves any praise and attention, but for some reason (most likely due to the fault of the publisher) it is forced to carry a huge stretched campaign for 15 hours, consisting mainly of "ctrl+v" sections with a weak level design and a monotonous setting, only just in the 3rd act does the game open up a "second wind", the arenas become at least large enough to make it interesting to jump around in a circle, but at the end the problem of sponge-bosses arises even more.. In short, there are only about 3 types of bosses, you will defeat all of them already in act 1, but then you will meet them again and again, mixed up, only the levels will be higher.. levels - this is a facepalm for a boomer shooter, small enemies don’t have levels here, everything is fine, but why did they have to be made for big ones.. when they already demanded 5 clips each, and there were no interesting tactics for fighting them. But Boltgun could become the right "Doom 3", all modern "old" shooters for some reason forgot that the original Doom had awesome memorable designs of weapons and enemies, remakes, for example, generally ignore this part of the legacy of the originals, and relied only on cor. gameplay, in Boltgun everything is fine with this + colorful effects of shots, the aesthetics of "Warhammer" fits perfectly into the concept, and this is the only thing that connects the game with a huge series, don`t be afraid, there is no lore here, the plot too just get from point a to point b and kill the heretics, and the flying-head companion only serves as a source of a couple of jokes and guides. There are some sober ideas in the gameplay, for example, we are very fast, but at the same time the character feels rather heavy, which, it seemed to me, a little, but fresh, there are "super" clips for the machine gun, but their differences are microscopic, gigantic keys amused, corresponding to the spirit of gigantism of locations, but there is also a bunch of shortcomings, again, the uselessness of the assistant head, the lack of interesting secrets, which is extremely necessary for this genre, all the secrets are ordinary rooms that are just a little harder to notice, about some mini- games/puzzles, I generally keep quiet, even no platforming, 1-minute section in the middle.. from what I remember, fast mini-bosses are not slowed down by any type of damage, which could also significantly reduce irritation from them, gunplay good, but every chapter the entire arsenal is reset without explanation, and then the same guns for some reason get into other places in the slots, which creates confusion when you need to quickly select a weapon. In general, I like the approach of the Warhammer publishers, which gives money for experiments in the universe in various genres, which expands the overall fan base very well and allows you to reach even those players who have never touched this series at all (like me), but why was it necessary to force the developers to make of an ordinary boomer shooter such a long and expensive product, forcing them to copy-paste a lot and not pay enough attention to the gameplay? They didn’t even have time to come up with music, only some kind of beats. Boltgun is forever in my heart, but I don’t advise anyone to play it for more than 2 hours) 😊Subscribe on my Steam`s Curator`s page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/41977550/ /// Невероятный визуал этого проекта заслуживает любых похвал и внимания, но почему-то (скорее всего по вине издателя) он вынужден тащить на себе огромную растянутую кампанию на 15 часов, состояющую преимущественно из ctrl+v секций со слабым левел-дизайном и однообразным сеттингом, только лишь в 3 акте игра открывает "второе дыхание", аренки становятся хотя-бы достаточно большими, чтобы по ним было интересно скакать по кругу, но в конце ещё сильнее встаёт проблема боссов-губок.. Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/37365104
