Just as plot twisted as ever! Hard to compare to the original as that was heart wrenching and I felt more compared by the besties, however overall awesome game again! Intense and cool soundtracks to be had! Rock on! \M/

Attention content creators: this game's copyright-music filter does NOT work on youtube! Although this game has its moments, in total, it was rather disappointing when compared to its predecessor Life is Strange 2. Nice characters, some audio glitches in the dialogues (volume, pitches etc) make it seem, that something went wrong when making this game, be it either the team was rushed or pressured. Somehow the "love" was missing in this one and sometimes it seemed rather confusing than explainable. The story had great potential, but imho the final product missed the mark - sorry! One star off due to copyrighted music, another one off by offering a copyright-filter, that does not work. Full Steam review: Continuing the Life is Strange-franchise, "True Colors" is the story of Alex, who moves in with her brother in the small community of Haven Springs in Colorado. After her arrival, she encounters many interesting events, which mainly evolve around feelings and emotions. The small community and therefore small amount of NPCs makes this game cozy and highly relatable to anyone, who has lived in a smaller community once. The extent of her "superpower" (if it may be called that - she protested!) is a big question mark until the end, but continues to evolve through the whole game. Beautiful landscapes, a good choice of NPCs and nice voice actors help develop the setting of the game. To me personally, this game was not as enjoyable as LiS2 for example, although it started very promising. This is due to the very confusing turns the game sometimes takes. The power of Alex is never described completely, the copyright-filter for the music does NOT work on Youtube (attention, content creators!) and to me the most enjoyable moment of the game was in Chapter 3, when Alex and Ethan had their adventure. Chapter 5 (the last one) was to me especially disappointing - the start did not have much to do with the game before that and the choices in the end (was told about the options after the playthrough), were somewhat disappointing. Funny fact: this game was the first one in the series, that CRASHED once, when playing on win11 22h2. LiS2 set the bar very very high, when it came to expectations towards LiS:True Colors, but unfortunately those were definitely not met. My favourite chapter in addition to Chapter 3 was the Bonus chapter "Wavelengths". If it is between this game or Life is Strange 2, I would rather recommend LiS2. This one is rather recommended for true fans of the series than as an entry point to the whole franchise. The series builds up, so one should definitely start with the first game! Is this game worth the full price? I would rather urgently recommend to wait for a sale.
